This website has been compiled by the Parish Council to give information as to its activities and procedures.  Please browse the website to find information on your Council representatives, local issues and records of official meetings.  The Parish Council is responsible for the cemetery and documents can be downloaded directly from the relevant page.

The mission of the Parish Council is to help to maintain and strive to improve the quality of life within the Parish boundary of Mattersey and Mattersey Thorpe.  There are currently 6 representatives and 3 vacancies.  Meetings are held monthly and are open to the public who have the opportunity to speak in the public forum at the start of each session. Issues can also be raised with any Parish Councillor or the clerk to the council whose contact details can be found on the ‘Parish Councillors‘ page.

If you would like to become involved with your community and join the Parish Council you can find further information from the following publications – Be a councillor | Local Government Association – Good Councillors Guide.  If there are vacancies it may be possible to be co-opted in between official elections, an application form can be downloaded here.

The villages have compiled a Neighbourhood Plan which will help to encourage the sustainability of the villages.  The final plan can be viewed at https://www.bassetlaw.gov.uk/media/4708/mattersey-03-neighbourhood-plan-final-version.
